Lopes went pro in 2012 and currently competes as a featherweight champion in the LUX Fight League, Xtreme Fighting League (XFL), and JFL. He also fights in Brazil’s Evolution Fight Night (EFN), where he is the bantamweight champion. Diego Lopes recently made headlines following his triumphant win over Dan Ige at UFC 303.

Lopes made his UFC debut just last year on May 6, 2023, at UFC 288: Sterling vs. Cejudo. Sadly, Lopes lost out on his debut match against Movsar Evloev via a unanimous decision.
Despite the loss, Lopes managed to bounce back and won against Gavin Tucker in just 98 seconds via submission. The fight took place at the UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs. Font, last year, on August 5, 2023. Lopes then secured his second career victory after beating Pat Sabatini at UFC 295: Procházka vs. Pereira via a KO in the first round on November 11, 2023.
