Strong is an important component; she was the final recruit in the ESPN HoopGurlz top 100 to commit. She stated that she was debating North Carolina, Duke, and UConn last month and that she will make a decision on Saturday.
Who is Sarah Strong?
Age 18 Sarah is a 6-foot-2 power forward with a wide range of skills who can play both inside and on the wing. In her three seasons at Sanford, North Carolina’s Grace Christian, she has almost won everything.
She is ranked No. 1 in HoopGurlz’s 2024 rankings and, along with Allie Ziebell (No. 4) and Morgan Cheli (No. 18), is one of three top-20 players that will be attending Storrs for the upcoming season.
Strong is a young representative for the United States, having won gold in the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup in both 2022 and 2023. Her achievements include becoming the McDonald’s All American Game co-MVP, the Naismith Player of the Year, and a two-time gold medallist in the 3×3 U18 World Cup.
For the most part, she is best known for her two gold medals from the 3X3 U18 World Cup, her co-winner of the McDonald’s All American Game, her recognition as the Naismith High School Player of the Year, her MVP status at adidas Eurocamp, her participation in the Nike Hoop Summit, her two Gatorade Player of the Year titles in North Carolina, and her two titles as North Carolina Miss Basketball.
Over the course of her three-year career, she averaged 23 points, 16 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 3.3 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game.
