In a news conference on Wednesday, Davis Police Chief Darren Pytel said that they were in touch with the FBI to get profilers involved in figuring out who was responsible for the killings. Karim Abou Najm, a 20-year-old UC Davis student, was stabbed to death two days later at Sycamore Park in Davis, which is a mile from Central Park. Najm, who studied computer science, was coming back from an awards gathering for college students. Kimberlee Guillory, who was homeless and 64 years old, was stabbed on May 1. Carlos Dominguez attended school until days before wave of fatal stabbings

Carlos Dominguez went to UC Davis until April 25. On that day, he was kicked out for academic reasons, according to the school. This was done two days before the first body was found. He was in his third year of school and his major was biological sciences. The university says that he went to Oakland’s Laney College in the past.

Davis Police Chief Darren Pytel said that it’s still not clear why the people were killed, since Carlos Dominguez went with police to talk to them more. They looked in his bag and found a big knife.
