After leading the German side to the European final, Edin Terzic resigned from the role suddenly a few weeks later when Real Madrid won their records-extending 15th UCL title.
It was like a dream come true for the former player. The 35-year-old, who inked a three-year deal, will be looking to steer the team toward Bundesliga success in 2019.
Prior to returning to Dortmund in December, Sahin served as head coach of Turkish club Antalyaspor from 2021 to 2023. Amidst an arduous league campaign, his old team sought his assistance in supporting Terzic as head coach.

Who is Tugba Sahin?
Tugba Sahin who was the cousin of Nuri, is now the wife of Nuri Sahin, the current head coach of Borussia Dortmund. She was born and raised in Turkey.
Their love is something which kicked off long back ago during their teenage years. When they initially got together in 2004, Sahin was only 16 years old and a member of Borussia Dortmund’s youth squad, the team he will be leading as a manager now.
We can say Tugba has witnessed Nuri achieving new heights. The two later came closer and finally got married to each other in 2013 sharing vows in a private ceremony which was graced by family and close friends.
Sahin and Nuri are parents to two kids together. They have a daughter named Ela who is nine years old and a son named Lian who is just six.
Meanwhile, talking about her husband, since not much has been disclosed about Tugba, prior to taking over as head coach after negotiations with the team, the 35-year-old was a midfielder for Dortmund and served as Terzic’s assistant coach.
In addition to his stunning spells at Real Madrid and Liverpool, he also served as head coach of the Turkish club Antalyaspor in 2021.
