Travis Posey opened fire at a Mad Butcher store in the Arkansas township on Friday, according to the authorities. In a shootout with Dallas County Police, he was also hit by bullets. During the gunfight, two police officers also sustained injuries. Posey’s injuries and those of the cops were not considered life-threatening. According to officer Hagar, the remaining wounds were “not life-threatening to extremely critical.” A motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.

News has emerged from the mother of a 23-year-old woman who is one of the 14 victims allegedly targeted by Posey in a recent shooting and speculations imply that Posey might be the proprietor of a tree service business in Kingsland, located in Cleveland County.

Age 44 “Joey” Posey, also known as Travis, is being kept at the Ouachita County Jail in relation to a gunshot incident that happened at a grocery shop in Fordyce. The Arkansas State Police have released a photo and information of his arrest. The Ouachita County Sheriff stated that Joey may face first-degree murder charges. At 6:26 p.m. local time, he was formally checked into the county jail.
The incident happened at the Mad Butcher grocery store shortly after 11:30 a.m. in Fordyce, a town of roughly 3,200 residents 65 miles (104 km) south of Little Rock.
According to the police, Travis Posey went on a shooting rampage on Friday afternoon, killing three individuals and injuring multiple more. Certainly, the awful mass shooting’s motivation needs to be determined. Travis Posey will face charges for the deaths of three civilians following the launch of an investigation.
The Ouachita County Sheriff’s Office stated it had no information, and a state police representative was unsure if Posey had legal representation.
During a press conference on Friday, Director of the Arkansas Department of Public Safety Mike Hagar stated that the accused gunman was shot by responding officers, but his wounds were not considered life-threatening. The injuries sustained by the two officers who were shot were not considered life-threatening.
Other shooting incident
In 2022, ten Black people were murdered at a Buffalo grocery by a white supremacist. A little over a year had passed since ten people had died in a shooting at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado.
Whether the shooting happened inside or outside the establishment was not immediately disclosed by the police.
A video that was shared on social media showed several gunshots being heard while at least one person was seen lying in the parking lot.
