Quincy Wilson is an American track and field athlete who was born on January 8, 2008.
A look at Quincy Wilson’s career
The young rising star started getting interested in athletics when he was just eight years old. For his career, so that the now 16-year-old can attend Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, his parents went to Gaithersburg, Maryland from Chesapeake, Virginia.
In January 2024, he set an indoor 500m world record for 18 and under, clocking a 1:01.27 at the VA Showcase.
The youngster’s early talent was evident as he defeated 30-year-old Obea Moore’s under-14 national record in the 400 metres. When Wilson was 14 years old in March 2022, he ran an outdoor 400-meter time of 48.41 seconds in 2022.
In August of the same year, by winning the 400 metres in 47.77 seconds after running 47.59 in the semifinals, he secured his fifth AAU Junior Olympic Games championship. Additionally, in a timing of 22.42 seconds, he placed second in the 200 metres.
In 2023, Quincy ran a mark of 46.67 seconds to win the 400-meter New Balance Nationals Indoor title in Boston, Massachusetts, in March 2023. Additionally, he set a 400-meter split record in April 2023 in Philadelphia at the Penn Relays in 45.06 seconds.
In September 2023, Quincy signed a name, image, and likeness (NIL) contract with a major sports brand corporation, making him one of the youngest athletes in the United States.
In 2024, he ran several remarkable races before setting a national high school indoor record time of 45.76 seconds in March 2024 and successfully defended his championship in the New Balance Nationals Indoor 400m title in Boston.
