Collin Murray-Boyles measured 6′ 6.50” barefoot, 239.2 lbs, 7′ 0.75” wingspan, 8′ 10.00” standing reach with a 29.5 no step vertical and 34.5 maximum vertical at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine. A Columbia, South Carolina native, he averaged 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game as a sophomore and starred at A.C. Flora High School, where he led his team to a state championship while averaging 20.3 PPG, 12.1 RPG, and 4.5 APG.

He layed his senior year at Wasatch Academy, (Utah) where he averaged 15.0 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.8 blk and 1.0 stl per game and returned close to home to play in college for the Gamecocks.

He spent two years at the University of South Carolina and experienced impressive growth between his freshman and sophomore seasons as he averaged 10.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in 28 appearances (19 starts) as a freshman, but he elevated his game to another level in his sophomore year: 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game in 32 appearances.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Collin’s father Sean even went so far as to build a home gym to ensure his training remained uninterrupted—an example of the commitment his family showed to his growth. Murray-Boyles was born on June 10, 2005, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Sean and Yvonne Boyles. His father, Sean, has been working as a contractor, while his mother, Yvonne, has built a career in law after earning her degree from the University of South Carolina’s Joseph F. Rice School of Law. She began her professional journey at Johnson Toal and Battiste before establishing her own firm.

Those who coached him during his early years have often emphasized the influence his parents had on his development. His high school coach, Joshua Staley, credited their values and discipline for shaping his relentless work ethic. Observers noted that while some young players plateau over time, Murray-Boyles seemed to improve continuously—a trait many traced back to the habits nurtured at home.

The connection between the family and the University of South Carolina also played a major role in Collin’s college decision. His mother, a proud alumna, and his father, an enthusiastic supporter of the USC women’s basketball team, had long been tied to the Gamecocks community. Collin described the choice to stay in-state as obvious, having grown up attending games and immersing himself in the Gamecock atmosphere from a young age.

What stood out even more was the family’s consistent presence at his games, regardless of how far they had to travel. Collin had mentioned that his parents never missed a match, reinforcing the deep support system he relied on throughout his career. Although neither of his parents played basketball, athletic ability seemed to run in the family.

He has two older brothers—Armani and James. James, in particular, made a name for himself during his collegiate career at UNC Pembroke between 2015 and 2019, amassing 1,369 career points. Though he went undrafted, he pursued a professional career overseas and last played for Astana in the VTB United League.
