He beat all odds to get to the Everest Base Camp (17,598 feet above sea level) on May 11 after a week-long journey. There, feeling pleased that he had served as an inspiration to those with disabilities, he proudly lifted the national tricolour.

Because of this, Kaushik is the first triple amputee to ever reach the Everest Base Camp, according to the CEO of the Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG), Avelino D’Souza.

Who is Tinkesh Kaushik?

Tinkesh Kaushik is a triple amputee from Goa who is currently 30 years old. He arrived at Mount Everest Base Camp at 17,598 feet above sea level, making history’s first triple amputee.

Relocating to Goa several years ago, the amputee—who wears prosthetic limbs—has been working as a fitness coach.

He began working on the ground, and because of his level of amputation and prosthetic limbs, it was really uncomfortable for him on the first day, as per several reports by PTI. His mental health was the reason how he was able to finish the trek.

Kaushik lost a hand and both lower limbs in an electrocution accident in Haryana when he was nine years old. But he used determination and pure desire to overcome this disability.

In 2018, this daring guy with very strong willpower reportedly attempted bungee jumping in Nepal and even went scuba diving in Puducherry so the Everest Base Camp wasn’t his first adventure.
