As per a statement released by Norfolk Southern, the two top executives were fired after the brand discovered the behavior of the two was “inconsistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and company policy.”
Alan Shaw’s “sudden departure,” occurred just days after the brand launched an investigation into his relationship with Nabanita Nag. The investigation intensified after the board’s public acknowledgement of the matter.
Reportedly, both Nag and Shaw are married. As per various reports, Nabanita Nag is married to Sagarnil “Neil” Nag, who’s reportedly a managing director at Bank of America in New York.
The couple’s family details remain private. Neil Nag previously served as chief investment officer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Meanwhile, Shaw is married to Tiffany Shaw, with whom he has 4 children. Nothing more is know about his family though. Alan will now be replaced by Mark George at Norfolk.

About Alan H. Shaw
For the curious, Shaw, whose full name is Alan Howard Shaw is an American business executive. He was working as the President and chief executive officer of Norfolk Southern before his departure on September 11, 2024.
Shaw was appointed as the CEO of Norfolk Southern on May 1, 2022. Reports reveals that the businessman has completed a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech University.
Later, he went to pursue a Master’s degree in Business Administration. In 2012, he enrolled himself in Harvard Business School in the general management program. He is also a financial analyst.
The former CEO of Norfolk Southern had at least 27 years of experience in marketing, operations, and finance. Reports claims that Shaw has established a Bulldog Legacy Scholarship at East Palestine High School.
Previously, the businessman has contributed a total of $445,000 to provide scholarship for students indefinitely. He was $4.5 per year as CEO at Norfolk.
