Despite suffering an injury setback early on in his playing career, Brown worked towards coaching and eventually built a remarkable career. While his salary as Bears interim head coach isn’t known, Matt who was recently fired was paid between $3.5-4.5 million annually.

Thomas Brown is an American professional football coach who was born on May 15, 1986, in Tucker, Georgia, USA. He is a former running back and the newly appointed interim head coach for the Chicago Bears of the NFL. Before becoming a coach, Brown briefly played college football at Georgia and also played professionally in the NFL. Brown spent his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons and the Cleveland Browns.
He is married to Jessica Brown with whom he has three children.
Jessica and Thomas have known each other since they were 14, both living in Georgi at the time with them currently residing in Los Angeles.

Education
Thomas Brown obtained his early education from Tucker High School and later attended the University of Georgia from 2004-2007. During his time in university, Brown was a part of the football team and rushed a total of 2,646 yards and 23 touchdowns across 40 career games. During his freshman year, he rushed an impressive 875 yards and eight touchdowns, earning him Freshman All-SEC honors in 2004.
Thomas Brown coaching career
Thomas Brown started out his coaching career by coaching running backs at several colleges, including Chattanooga, Marshall, Wisconsin, and Georgia.
On December 30, 2015, Brown was hired to be the running backs coach and offensive coordinator at the University of Miami and on January 9, 2019, Brown was named the running backs coach at the University of South Carolina.
He mainly gained prominence while serving as the running backs coach with the Los Angeles Rams back in 2020. The following season, he attained the role of assistant head coach.
He achieved further success when the Rams won Super Bowl LVI in 2022. During his time with the Rams, he even transitioned from running backs to tight ends, coach. Following his success in 2022, Thomas Brown joined the Carolina Panthers the following year as their offensive coordinator. During his time there, the NFLPA voted him as the No. 2 offensive coordinator that year.
On February 17, 2023, Brown was hired by the Carolina Panthers as their offensive coordinator and on January 30, 2024, Brown was hired by the Chicago Bears as their pass game coordinator under head coach Matt Eberflus. Brown was then promoted to offensive coordinator following the firing of Shane Waldron.
Thomas Brown now has a new task at hand as he takes over as interim head coach for the Bears. Notably, his plays generally emphasize quick throws, designed rollouts, and strategic deep passes. Brown could possibly take over as the Bears’ permanent head coach in the next five weeks that he takes charge.
