It wasn’t until she saw her car on TV that the wife of the man detained on suspicion of hurting over 80 people when a car crashed into crowds enjoying a football parade in Liverpool learned of the incident.

A married businessman with three kids is the suspect, according to reports, and his wife “first realised when she saw it was her car on the telly, when she saw it being driven at the parade,” according to neighbours.

One neighbour told The Mirror: “It seems completely out of character. They are such a nice family, the boys are really nice and well-behaved. [He] is a fantastic guy. He came over to help us when our alarm went off once, and then did the same for our immediate neighbours, too.

“It just doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t feel right. They are lovely. The whole thing is so sad – for his wife and children and also for the people who were injured.”

The identity and name of the businessman driver is yet to be revealed though.

The suspected driver was arrested after almost 80 people were injured when a car ploughed into crowds at the Liverpool victory parade. The West Derby, age 53 man arrested at the scene is reportedly a married businessman who has been described as a “nice family man” by neighbours.

Merseyside Police have been given extended powers to keep the 53-year-old man from the West Derby area of the city in custody, after he was arrested on charges of murder and drug driving.

Merseyside Police took the rare step of disclosing the suspect’s country and ethnicity early in the inquiry, perhaps in an attempt to stop the transmission of false information that had already started to circulate on social media along with graphic images of the incident.

According to police observers, it represents a “complete step change” in their strategy for responding to the horrifying knife assault that occurred in Southport last summer.

According to a neighbour of the suspect, the wife didn’t realize what had happened in the crash until she saw her Ford Galaxy on TV.

“The wife is a really nice woman and they have children,” the neighbour told media. Nobody can accept that this has occurred.

According to Everton manager David Moyes, Liverpool is a “special” place because of the city’s unity. The manager of the Toffees, who is credited with creating the term “The People’s Club” during his first stint at Goodison Park in 2002, has commended the way the community came together to support one another following Monday’s terrible events at Liverpool’s triumph parade.

Prime Minister visited Merseyside Police headquarters

Following the Liverpool victory parade incident in which a car crashed into crowds, the prime minister paid a visit to Merseyside Police headquarters.

On Wednesday afternoon, Sir Keir Starmer met with Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram, Police and Crime Commissioner Emily Spurrell, Deputy Chief Constable Chris Green, and Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims at the force’s base in Liverpool.
