When his journalist son Ishaan Tharoor questioned Congress MP Shashi Tharoor about India’s Operation Sindoor, he found himself in a difficult situation.
In view of Islamabad’s constant denials, Ishan Tharoor, a global affairs columnist for The Washington Post, asked his father if any nation had requested proof of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam terror assault from the Indian delegation.

Shashi Tharoor responded by saying that if there had not been solid proof against Pakistan, India would not have retaliated as it did.
“I’m very glad you raised this. I didn’t plant it, I promise you. This guy does this to his dad,” Tharoor quipped. “No one had any doubt,” he added while replying to his son’s question on Pakistan’s repeated denial of involvement in the attack.
“Let me say very clearly that India would not have done this without convincing evidence,” the Congress leader replied.
