United Kingdom is currently mourning the demise of three young girls after they were stabbed to death in a knife attack in Southport, one of worst assaults against children.
The ferocious attack killed three young girls and left eight others injured. The heartbreaking incident took place at a Taylor Swift themed event in a dance school in the northwest England.

After these fake news and rumors flooded the social media platforms, the Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, came forward on Tuesday as she urged the netizens to avoid “unhelpful” speculations about the Southport attack.

She furthermore emphasized that the social media platforms “need to take responsibility” for the content that is being shared on their platform, while adding that “Above all, this is about young children.”
In her statement, Yvette Cooper said, “This is about children and their families who will be grieving, and the many other children who were involved yesterday who will be facing great trauma as well.”
What Exactly Happened?
As per the various reports, the authorities revealed that three children aged 6, 7 and 9 were killed in a tragic Southport knife attack on Monday. In addition, two adults were critically injured in the incident.

According to the police the adults received injury while “bravely trying to protect the children” who were being attacked by a knife wielder. As per the information provided by the authorities, the Southport attack took place in a dance school on Monday morning.
Merseyside police received a call for help and emergency services including 13 ambulances were sent to the crime scene, that was described as a “major incident.”
Identity of the Victims
As per the reports, the girls who died in Southport attack are identified as a 9-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 6-year-old Bebe King, and a 7-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe.

The pictures shared by the families of the victims shows Alice in a princess like white dress, while Elsie smiling for the camera in her school uniform and Bebe is shown flaunting her two cute ponytails.
Identity of the Suspect
As of now there isn’t any update regarding the identity of the suspect. However, authorities revealed that they have apprehended a 17-year-old boy at the crime scene on the “suspicion of murder and attempted murder.” The identity and name of the minor isn’t revealed owing to legal reasons with him still a minor.
The minor was taken to the Merseyside police station and was interviewed by the authorities on Tuesday.
Although the police officials hasn’t released the identity of the suspect, the chief constable officer from Merseyside, Serena Kennedy revealed that the suspect is from a village of Banks in Lancashire, who was born in Cardiff.
