Recently, reports emerged online indicating that the event organized by Uncle N Me LLC’s inspired show Bridgerton turned a massive letdown for fans who reportedly paid hundreds of dollars to attend the event which was supposed to be a glamorous, fun, and thrilling experience.

Uncle & Me LLC was started by an uncle and niece team of Jeremy Scott and Chelsea Beard, according to the company’s online posting. “We bring amazing networking events to local cities for small businesses!” the company states on the Facebook page.

The page shows a Motor City spring pop up shop in Eastern Market for Cinco De Mayo last spring. Uncle N Me filed for articles of organization in Michigan on Jan.

The company’s state articles of organization lists a mailing address at 43313 Woodward Ave., which appears to be a Staples store, in the Bloomfield Hills area.

“We understand that not everyone had the experience they hoped for … and for that, we sincerely apologize,” the statement read, adding that the company was “working diligently to address all concerns and reviewing compensation options to make things right,” Uncle & Me said in a statement.

The event was held Sunday at The Harmonie Club on Grand River Avenue and was billed as a “Bridgerton” ball that featured dinner, dancing, games and a “best-dressed” contest.

What Did the Reports Reveal?


Many disappointed attendees took to social media platforms, calling the event a “scam.” Reportedly, the event that had included a costume contest with a $2,000 prize, classic music, and a performance modeled after the show.

As per media reports, attendees were also promised a royal dinner, valet service, and plenty of entertainment. However, none of these promises were followed through when guests reached the event.

How Did These Claims Gain Traction?

These claims came to the spotlight after an X user who goes by the name @rayleearts, took to the platform and penned, “Thread about the Bridgerton Ball SCAM in Detroit that I (and hundreds of others) spent $300 on.” In addition, the user also attached a photo featuring a disappointing scene.

Attendees, who walked in the venue dressing in an elaborate ball gowns, found themselves in a lackluster venue that was worlds apart from the elegance they had envisioned.

The complaints ranged from undercooked food to subpar decorations, with a single violinist playing in the corner. Meanwhile, many attendees were seen spotted sitting cross-legged on the floor, scrolling through their phones out of the boredom in viral videos on X/Twitter.

Tickets Price

As per claims made by various social media users, the tickets were priced at $250 to $300, promising a full experience, including valet service and a three-course dinner.


Although, the attendees were promised a lot of things with their expectations raising higher. However, they only met with disappointment, with lack of entertainment, poor food, and poor decorations.

What Did Uncle N Me LLC Say?

Witnessing the online backlash, Uncle N Me LLC issued a public apology, accepting “full responsibility,” for the failure.

In addition, they expressed that while they aimed to create a magical experience, logistical challenges led to the disastrous outcome.

However, they did not confirm whether refunds would be provided. Despite the apologies, many fans remained angry, questioning how such an event, especially given the price of the ticket, could be so poorly executed.
