Earlier, the Matrimonial website too to their Twitter and posted the advertisement along with the caption, “A lot of women have stopped playing Holi due to the trauma they experience through harassment.
“Watch this video that brings this to life in a hard hitting way. This Holi, let’s celebrate Women’s Day, and choose to keep them safe everyday. #BeChoosy #Holi #Holi2023 #WomensDay.”
The advertisement seemed to triggered the massive outcry on social media with thousands joining in the boycot trend with the hashtag such as #BoycottBharatMatrimony.
One angered user took to Twitter and wrote, “#BoycottBharatMatrimony Shame on @bharatmatrimony for using a Hindu festival like #Holi to run their social awareness agenda.”

A fourth one added, “Waiting for the day when @bharatmatrimony will release an ad with a woman who removes her burkha to show multiple bruises to her faces, with woke gyan on how hijab is dehumanising women! Why is all feminist gyan given only on Hindu festivals?”
For those who are curious to know more about the Matrimonial site’ response, let us tell you, as of now the site hasn’t responded to the backlash that they are receiving online.
