At the Grand Finale in Hyderabad, Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 to become the first ever winner from Thailand. She was awarded Rs 8.5 crore in prize money.
For the costume round, Opal wore a soft white gown, adorned with floral embellishments looking like opals (with the influence of her mother’s maiden name of Opal) and the gown was adorned with Swarovski crystals.

The 108 candidates were introduced to begin the tournament. Following the revelation of the top 10 competitors from each of the four continents, the top five competitors from each continent were then revealed. The Top 2 from each continent who advanced to the Top 8 were then revealed by the hosts. Miss Philippines and Miss Thailand were the top Asian contestants in this round.
India did not qualify for Miss World’s top 8 despite serving as the host nation. Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia was announced the first runner-up, followed by Maja Klajda of Poland in second place and Aurelie Joachim of Martinique in third.

Miss Ethiopia Hasset Dereje Admassu was asked: “What does Miss World stand for?”. She replied: “I think Miss World is not just a beauty title. There are so many mothers and babies who have put their trust in me, to let me be here and represent Ethiopia. I’m very proud to be here and prove what we can do.”
21-year-old Suchata Opal Chuangsri was born on September 20, 2003, and is currently a Political Science and International Relations student at Thammasat University in Bangkok. Speaking Thai, English, and Chinese fluently, Opal embodies the modern, global youth. She did her education from Kajonkietsuksa School and Triam Udom Suksa School.

Her journey began in 2021 with Miss Rattanakosin, and she went on to win the Voice for Change Silver Award for her campaign “Opal For Her.” After undergoing surgery for a benign br*ast lump at the age of 16, Opal went on to place second runner-up in Miss Universe Thailand 2022 and third at Miss Universe 2024.
Representing Bangkok, Opal won the Miss Universe Thailand 2024 title, along with awards like Miss Charming Talent and Miss Beauty and Confidence.
Opal is more than just a beauty queen; she also has a fun side. She has five dogs, sixteen cats, and plays the ukulele backwards. She also received over 2.3 million views, which put her at the top of the Miss World multimedia scoreboard. She represents Asia and Oceania and is one of the four continental winners.
Opal now hopes to represent Thailand as an ambassador, carry on promoting women’s health, and demonstrate to the world that beauty does have a purpose.
