After months of keeping their marriage secret, Rita Ora has now officially announced that she is married to New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi.
The 32-year-old singer shared the good news on Heart Radio Breakfast on Friday, January 27, while promoting her brand-new song, “You Only Love Me.” Ora remarked that her wedding day was “perfect” and “special.”
In the music video of her song, Ora appears in a wedding scene while donning a rare vintage Yves Saint Laurent Autumn/Winter 1987 Rive Gauche gown. The video features cameo appearances by Sharon Stone, Kristen Stewart, Lindsay Lohan, and Jodie Turner-Smith, some of the singer’s well-known acquaintances.

Who is Taika Waititi?
Taika Waititi is a well-known New Zealand filmmaker, actor, and comedian. He has been in the news because he was recently married to singer Rita Ora.
His full name is Taika David Cohen. He was born on August 16, 1975, in Raukokore, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Later, he spent time growing up in Wellington’s Aro Valley and along the East Coast. His mother, Robin Cohen, was a teacher, and his father was an artist of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui ancestry. He calls himself a “Polynesian Jew.”
He attended Onslow College before enrolling at Victoria University of Wellington to study theater, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997.
Taika Waititi spent eleven years with New Zealand actress and author Loren Horsley. Later, in 2011, he married Chelsea Winstanley, a film producer from New Zealand. The couple has two daughters. In 2018, he and Winstanley got divorced.
From 2021 until the present, he has been dating Rita Ora, a British singer. Although they were married in August 2022, they chose to wait until January 2023 to announce their marriage to the public.

Taika Waititi was a member of the five-person comedy group So You’re a Man while still a student. He and Jemaine Clement made up the other half of the comic team, The Humourbeasts.
He started creating humorous short films for New Zealand’s annual 48-hour film competition as one of his many artistic hobbies. He was nominated for an Academy Award in 2005 for his 2003 short film, “Two Cars, One Night.”
Eagle vs. Shark, a romantic comedy that served as his debut motion picture, was distributed in American cinemas for a restricted release in 2007. He wrote and directed two episodes of the comedy series “Flight of the Conchords” that year.
“What We Do In The Shadow,” a vampire comedy mockumentary that Taika Waititi worked on, went on to become a cult favorite and was turned into a TV show. He also worked on the independent film Hunt for the Wilderpeople before moving on to the Marvel Studios blockbuster Thor.
