Tadarrius Bean, 24, of Olive Branch, DeSoto County, Mississippi, is one of the cops who has earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Mississippi in Lafayette County, Mississippi, as reported by Conan Daily. The 5’10” man graduated in May of 2020 and played football for the school. He previously graduated from Center Hill High School in Olive Branch in 2016.
After finishing high school in 2020, he applied to and was hired by the Memphis Police Department in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. Early on January 26, 2023, he was arrested and detained in the Shelby County Jail in Memphis for assaulting Tyre Nicholas and other police officers. The single police officer was released after posting a $250,000 bond.
Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis stated early Friday morning that an inquiry and review of accessible camera footage had found “no indication” that Nichols was stopped for reckless driving, as reported by Media.

Officials have said that a video of the incident will be released on Friday at 9 p.m. Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn “C.J.” Davis said on Thursday that the “heinous, reckless, and brutal” behaviour shown in the video will likely incite public indignation. She asked for calm and warned that demonstrations were inevitable.
Tadarrius Bean and other officers charged on multiple counts
They have been charged with two counts of official misconduct, official oppression, and aggravated kidnapping, as well as second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and two instances of aggravated kidnapping. Department rules were broken, and as a result, Justin Smith, Desmond Mills Jr., Emmitt Martin III, Tadarrius Bean, and Demetrius Haley were fired from official duties.
However, Justin Smith, Desmond Mills Jr., Emmitt Martin III, and Tadarrius Bean have all been released from Shelby County Jail. Demetrius Haley is still detained with a bond set at $350,000.
