A look at Yashaswini Ghorpade’s career so far
Earlier this year, in July, at the WTT Youth Contender table tennis tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Yashaswini defeated Giulia Takahashi of Brazil in straight games to win the U-19 girls singles championship. The Indian just took 21 minutes to defeat the Brazilian with a score of 11-6, 11-9, 11-7 and snatch the gold medal.
Yashaswini took part in and won a bronze medal in the third Khelo India Youth Games held in Guwahati. However, there was no medal for her in Panchkula. She also has a gold medal at the UTT National Ranking Championship which she grabbed alongside Payas Jain of Delhi. The youngster has won several medals on international level.
Yashwini, who idolises Manika Batra is also a bronze medallist in the women’s doubles division at the Rades, Tunisia, 2022 Youth World Championships, winner of the Asian Youth Championship junior mixed doubles and bronze medallist in the singles.
Yashwini started winning titles since 2018 at the Indian Under-17 Championship in women’s singles and doubles and she didn’t stop since then and which also kick started her international career.
