Sylvinho bio
Sylvio Mendes Campos Junior, more popularly known as Sylvinho, is a Brazilian football manager and former player who was born on April 12, 1974, in São Paulo, State of São Paulo, Brazil. Sylvinho currently serves as the coach of the Albania national football team and is a former football player himself. Sylvinho is multilingual, and he can speak fluently in Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, and English besides his native Brazilian.
He is married to Lucie with whom he has two children. His daughter, Tati Mendes is very active in social networks and posts parts of the family life of the Rossoneri coach. One of her lastest posts is with Silvinho and his wife in a bar.

Sylvinho is currently 50 years old and stands at a height of 1.72 m (5 ft 8 in).
Player career
During his time as a player, Sylvinho played for several football clubs, primarily as a left back. He began his career at Corinthians before joining Arsenal in 1999 to become the first Brazilian to join an English club. He spent two memorable seasons at the club before joining Celta in 2001. Sylvinho joined Barcelona in 2004 and then Manchester City in 2009, where he played his final season. Following his retirement, he started a career in coaching.
Coaching career
Before taking up the helm with Albania, Sylvinho started off his coaching career with Lyon in 2019, before briefly joining Corinthians from 2021–2022. He then took up the role of head coach for the Albania national team in 2023.
Sylvinho was a surprise choice as the head coach of the Albania national team, replacing the outgoing Edoardo Reja. Notably, the last three coaches were all Italian, and Sylvinho had also previously worked as Roberto Mancini’s assistant coach with the Italian national team for two years, but his linguistic acumen was decisive for the deal.
Albania at the 2024 Euros
Sylvinho and the Albania national team are next set to face off against Spain in their final group stage match on June 25, 2024. The team previously lost 2-1 to Italy in the opener and then drew 2-2 with Croatia.
