South African swimmer Taneal was born on 7 May, 1999 in Pretoria, South Africa but the height of the 26 year old isn’t known. She went to the Cornwall Hill College before going to Indiana State Pretoria, South Africa. Baptiste competes in IM, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle events and was named swimmer of the year for her school for five years as well as being named team captain. Baptiste also competed in club swimming for the Players Swim Club Pretoria and is the daughter of Mark and Jackie Baptiste and has one sibling, Kira.
Taneal lead the women’s contingent of Team SA at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Berlin back in 2023. Before joining Indiana, she swam for Players Swimming Club, where she trained under Coach Grant Kritzinger. Baptiste has been at the club since she was 12, but began to focus on swimming at age 14 when she dropped netball and was the 2014 and 2015 South African Junior National Champion in the 200 and 400 freestyles and also won the 100 free in 2014.
