The Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced on Wednesday that they had discovered the remains of Suzanne Morphew, aged 49, in the Moffat area of Saguache County, know about her husband and daughters

Suzanne Morphew, aged 49, went missing on May 10, 2020, which happened to be Mother’s Day. She resided in Maysville, located in Chaffee County, to the west of Salida, with her husband, Barry Morphew, and their children.
At the time of her disappearance, the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office reported that she had gone for a bike ride but never returned. Her bicycle was discovered not far from their home, and her bike helmet was found four days later, less than a mile away, just off Route 50, without any damage.
Despite extensive search efforts by investigators, family, and friends, Suzanne Morphew remained unaccounted for. In May 2021, a year after her disappearance, her husband Barry was charged with her murder, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Following a three-day preliminary hearing, a Chaffee County judge determined that there was sufficient probable cause for him to stand trial.
However, prior to the trial taking place, the charges against Barry Morphew were dismissed in April 2022, when prosecutors filed a motion to dismiss the case. The possibility of refiling charges exists if new evidence surfaces.
As of the time when Suzanne’s remains were discovered, no arrests had been made in the case.
Meanwhile, the El Paso County Coroner confirmed the positive identification of Suzanne’s remains on Wednesday, September 27. It’s important to note that the search that led to the discovery of Suzanne’s remains was connected to a different case.
She had been buried in a shallow grave, the coroner called to the site said, and her bones then dispersed over the years.
Earlier, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation stated, “No arrests have been made since the remains were located. Updates will be provided as information becomes available during this ongoing investigation. Family notifications have been made following the formal identification of Suzanne Morphew.”
The couple’s daughters, Mallory and Macy Morphew had earlier said ABC News that the last three years have been “literally our worst nightmare.”
