Manoj Kumar Meena, deputy commissioner of police (north), stated that as soon as the incident was made public, an inquiry was launched against the police officers. According to the police, the incident happened close to the Inderlok metro station during the afternoon namaz.

Witnesses claimed that the incident occurred shortly after the namaz began, during which a group of police officers screamed insults at the worshipers as their supervising officer (Manoj Kumar Tomar) kicked them off the road.

People said that when the Muslim community blocked the roadways during Friday prayers, police officers reportedly used derogatory words for them, forcing them to shorten their prayers.

According to a statement released by Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Manoj Meena, Sub Inspector Manoj Kumar Tomar, who was seen attacking individuals in the video, has been suspended and is the subject of additional departmental action. Additionally, authorities are confirming if authorization was obtained to do prayers on the site.
