However, Arsenal maintained composure when it counted most. The north London team, who were the underdogs going into the final, shocked everyone by winning in the hot, sticky Jose Alvalade stadium, home of Sporting Lisbon.
Stina Blackstenius scored the game-winning goal, but the team’s complete effort was a true demonstration of tenacity and resolve.
She came off the bench and made an instant impact. Beth Mead set her up with a neat pass as Blackstenius finished calmly, showing why she’s called a super sub. She had also scored the winning goal in the League Cup final against Chelsea earlier in the season.
29-year-old Stina Blackstenius was born on 5 February 1996 and is 1.74m tall.
Magnus Blackstenius and Lena Wiberg are the parents of Stina. Nina Koppang, a Swedish international handball player, is her younger half-sister, and Oscar is her older brother.
Blackstenius attended Mjölby’s Kungshögaskolan to study economics. Her father’s side of the family is the source of her last name, Blackstenius. Her grandfather’s name was “Sten,” and he lived on a farm named “Blacksta.” In Sweden, that name is unique to her, her father, and her brother.
Stina is in a relationship with Philip Håman, who has been a pillar of support in her life. Philip is a Swedish lawyer and academic and is known for his work in international law and human rights. He is also the partner of Stina Blackstenius.
While her salary at Arsenal isn’t known, Stina Blackstenius had signed a new contract with Arsenal back in 2024, extending her stay at the club until 2025. Her net worth stands between $5-10 million.
Blackstenius was born in Vadstena, Sweden and started playing football at just six years old. At 16, she scored 21 goals in one season and the next year, she netted 38 goals and won Östergötland Player of the Year.
