Have a look at the net worth of William Bill Chisholm
The ownership of the Boston Celtics announced Thursday morning that they were selling the team to Bill Chisholm for $6.1 billion, the largest ever sale in the NBA. The NBA Board of Governors has not yet approved the transaction.
In a statement released when the deal was announced, Chisholm said he grew up in the North Shore region of Massachusetts and is a lifelong, “die-hard” Celtics fan, “I understand how important the Celtics are to the city of Boston — the role the team plays in the community is different than any other city in the country.”

Kimberly Ford Chisholm is Chisholm’s wife. All that is known about her is that she has three children, all of whom were born and raised in Massachusetts. Kim who has three children with her husband, is also the author — under the name Kimberly Ford — of “Hump: True Tales of S*x.”
Bill Chisholm is a highly successful investor who made his fortune in private equity and is the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Symphony Technology Group (STG), a firm he helped establish in 2002.
He went to school in the Northeast, too and received a B.A. from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and received his MBA in strategic management from The Wharton School in Philadelphia in 1996.
He and his wife Kimberly have three children. While STG is based in the Bay Area, he has a house in Nantucket and plans to buy a house in Boston as well.
His business specializes in investing in software, data and analytics companies and has reportedly managed assets worth $10 billion as of March 2023 but his exact net worth isn’t known.
Bill spent much of his career working at leading financial institutions, including Bain & Company and PaineWebber, before founding The Valent Group.
Bill Chisholm career
The expansion of his private equity investment company, STG, is arguably the greatest accomplishment of Bill Chisholm. Their website states that their sole goal is to create exceptional businesses in the mid-market enterprise software and software-enabled technology services industry. They don’t truly reveal their assets to ascertain their overall valuation because they are a private equity firm.
However, it’s reasonable to estimate that the amount is in the multibillion-dollar level given their enormous portfolio.

STG has developed a reputation for taking a long-term, active operational strategy throughout the years. Their approach is based on a “buy-and-build” model, whereby they acquire businesses, enhance their operations and positioning, and then decide whether to carefully depart or reinvest in future growth. Their greatest flaw, however, is that they are distinct from the others—not because of their valuation portfolio, but rather because they are headquartered in San Francisco rather than New York.
In addition to being a multibillionaire, he has fulfilled the goal of every sports fan: he is the owner of his preferred team. The most successful team in NBA history is now the Boston Celtics. Adding a zealot like William Chisholm to the board can only help them succeed going forward.
The Chisholms have been ardent supporters of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, now known as Breakthrough T1D. They received the Breakthrough T1D Impact Award in 2016 in recognition of their efforts to treat, prevent, and cure Type 1 diabetes.
In addition to his work in technology, Chisholm has made significant investments in real estate, finance, and sports and is the founder and CEO of Chisholm Capital, a private investment firm that manages a portfolio of assets across various sectors. Under his leadership, Chisholm Capital has become known for its strategic acquisitions and ability to generate substantial returns for its investors.
