In a recent announcement, Wipro’s Board of Directors appointed Srinivas Pallia as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the company, effective from April 7, 2024.
With immediate effect, Wipro named Srinivas Pallia as its new CEO and managing director (MD) on Saturday, following the resignation of CEO Thierry Delaporte. Wipro stated in a statement that he will take up the new role on Saturday, April 7, and hold it for a term of five years.
Srinivas Pallia brings with him a wealth of experience garnered over a remarkable career spanning more than three decades with Wipro.

He will hold the new position for a period of five years, starting Saturday (April 7) and was serving as the CEO of Wipro’s Americas 1, one of the company’s four strategic markets. An Indian, Srini lives in New Jersey with his family.
Having joined Wipro in 1992 as a product manager, Srinivas Pallia has traversed various geographies, functions, service lines, and business units within the organization. This extensive journey has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the company’s ethos and operations.
Pallia’s tenure at Wipro has been characterized by his adept handling of significant technological changes and industry transformations. His ability to navigate these shifts effectively has bolstered Wipro’s position in the market.
Over the years, Pallia has held several leadership roles within Wipro, including President of the Consumer Business Unit and Global Head of Business Application Services. His most recent role as the CEO for Americas 1, Wipro’s largest and fastest-growing market, highlights his strategic vision and ability to drive growth across diverse industry sectors.
Pallia has a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He also holds a master’s in management studies from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has furthered his education through executive programs at leading institutions such as Harvard Business School and McGill Executive Institute, enhancing his leadership skills and strategic thinking.
Outside of his professional endeavours, Pallia, known affectionately as Srini. He enjoys hiking. With a massive workforce of over 245,000 employees across six continents, Wipro is a powerhouse in the industry, boasting a revenue of $11.3 billion. While his salary in his new role isn’t known yet, Delaporte was being paid Rs.80 crore annually as CEO.
