Who is Srikala Reddy?
Srikala Reddy is a BJP politician and is well-known for being the wife of former MP Dhananjay Singh. She has been in the news because her husband received a 7-year jail sentence for the abduction of ‘Namami Gange’ project manager Abhinav Singhal. This is her second marriage but the details of her first husband aren’t known.
She was born and brought up in Telangana, India. However, after her marriage, she shifted to Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. Media sources claim that Srikala is a member of Telangana’s well-known business family, the Nippo Battery Group. Her father, K. Jitender Reddy, was an MLA from Kodad in 1969 and actively participated in the Telangana armed struggle.
After joining the BJP, she attempted to get a party ticket for Huzurnagar in the 2019 by-election. But the BJP went with a different nominee. She is presently Jaunpur’s District Panchayat President.
In 2017, she married Dhananjay Singh in Chennai. Notably, her marriage was attended by many famous personalities, including Telugu cinema star Allu Arjun. Before, Dhananjay Singh married twice.
