Born on August 11, 1997, Nishan Peiris, whose full name is Kurukulasooriya Nishan Peiris is a Sri Lankan cricketer, who domestically plays for the Colombo Cricket Club.

Born and raised in Negombo, the professional cricketer has completed his studies from St. Peters College, Negombo.
The right-arm off-spinner made his first-class debut for Badureliya Sports Club in 2016. The 27-year-old has also played T20 and List A cricket, making his debut for Ragama Cricket Club in both formats during the 2017โ18 season.

Career
In 2018, Nishan was named in Galleโs squad for various major tournaments, including the super four provincial tournament and the super provincial one day tournament.
During the 2018-19 premier limited overs tournament, Peiris emerged as the leading wicket-taker, claiming 20 wickets in a total of 6 matches.
In the same year, he was part of Sri Lankaโs preliminary squad for the Asia Cup. Later, he was called up for the third test against England.
In addition, he was also selected for the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2018, marking him as a rising star in Sri Lankan cricket.
With 172 first-class wickets in 41 matches at an impressive average of 24.37, Peiris has shown he has the skill to compete at the highest level.
His recent stint with Sri Lanka A in South Africa further highlighted his potential, as he claimed three wickets in the first unofficial Test.
As per reports, Nishan Peiris will partner with Prabath Jayasuriya for second frontline spinner during Test 2, which will be held between Sri Lanka vs New Zealand, beginning from September 26, 2024.
