The 2022 stop-motion movie, which will be available on Netflix, is directed by Guillermo del Toro. It is a remake of the 1883 Italian children’s classic The Adventures of Pinocchio with some of the Mexican director’s own touches.
The Meaning Of Spazzatura Name In Pinocchio And Who Voices Him
On Friday, December 9th, 2022, his Pinocchio made its Netflix debut and has since gained attention from public audiences. Guillermo del Toro has already won praise for directing films like Pan’s Labyrinth and The Shape of Water and established a reputation for fusing horror and fairytale.
However, let’s concentrate on Spazzatura in Pinocchio. She differs from the 1940 animated Disney film in several ways, including the addition of a monkey character.

Spazzatura, the moniker given to Count Volpe’s monkey assistant, is actually an Italian word that, according to Collins Dictionary, means “waste, trash, or junk.” In essence, Volpe gave the monster this name to further dehumanise him.
We discover throughout the movie that the Count verbally and physically abuses Spazzatura while she is in pain. He explains to Pinocchio that since the monkey is alone and had nothing when he was discovered, he can get away with the treatment. Initially, Spazzatura is envious of Volpe’s shifting focus to Pinocchio. He is the one who is compelled to control the puppets in the carnival act, which is how he earns his living.
With time, the wooden child understands Volpe’s treatment of him and Spazzatura as abuse, he joins forces with Spazzatura in overthrowing his cruel master. The word “spazzatura” sums up how he feels about Volpe. Although he has convinced his assistant that he is worthless, the monkey eventually realises that he is not.
In Pinocchio, Who Does Spazzatura’s Voice?
In reality, Cate Blanchett, a multiple-award winner, voices Spazzatura. The 52-year-old Australian actress recently appeared in Tar (where she played Lydia Tar), Don’t Look Up (where she played Bree Evantee), Ocean’s Eight (where she played Lou), and Thor: Ragnarok (as Hela).
Additionally, she and Guillermo recently worked together on his 2021 noir film Nightmare Alley (Dr Lilith Ritter), which stars Bradley Cooper as the main character.
On the other hand, earlier roles include I’m Not There, The Aviator, and The Lord of the Rings (Galadriel) (Jude).
