Age 54 Soundarya Jagadish who was a Kannada film producer and businessman passed away after reportedly attempting suicide on Sunday
Apart from being a film producer, Soundarya Jagadish owned a pub in the city. He was also a builder and businessman in addition to being a film producer.
Soundarya Jagadish reportedly tried to take his own life this morning at his home in Mahalakshmi Layout, according to sources. Police mentioned that investigations are ongoing, and proper procedures will be followed.

“Jagadish has passed away after attempting suicide. We took him to the hospital where he was declared dead,” his friend said. Additional procedures are being carried out to determine the cause of his death. Jagadish was not suffering from any health problems but he recently received a bank notice. His friend, Shreyas mentioned that the bank notice is not related to his demise as business matters are different.
Shreyas also clarified that the police were notified promptly, dismissing “misleading reports” suggesting the death was due to a heart attack.
His wife lodged a complaint instantly and denied any case of heart attack, alleging it to be death by suicide.

Jagadish, who owned a pub in the city, was also a builder and businessman besides being a film producer. Recently, there was a controversy involving the pub due to late-night partying by some film personalities and crew, leading to a temporary cancellation of its license.
Jagadish has produced several films including ‘Snehitaru’, ‘Appu Pappu’, ‘Mast Maja Maadi’, and ‘Ramleela’. Soundarya Jagadish had been going through financial troubles in recent years. He had suffered losses financially. Due to excessive debt, it seems this decision to take their own life was made.

In recent days, he had distanced themselves from film production and was actively involved with the Sandalwood film community. Last month, he organised his daughter’s wedding at the Kalyana Mantapa in Bengaluru’s RR Nagar. Notable figures like Darshan and Abhishek Ambareesh attended, showing their support by welcoming the newlyweds.
Family members, close friends, and many in the film industry are deeply shocked and grieving over the producer’s untimely demise. The exact reason behind this suicide is still unclear. He is survived by his wife Rekha, son Snehit, and a daughter.
