Google Doodle has a competition recently in which a 16-year-old Sophie Araque-Liu has been declared as the winner of Doodle for Google 2022, know her ethnicity and school
The brand will display the artwork of youngsters for the entirety of August now.
The annual contest of search engines allows students across the US to submit their Google Doodle artwork to suit their theme. This year the brand was themed “I care for myself.”

The theme was aimed to reflect on the positive ways for students to renew their mental and physical health.
Who’s Sophie Araque-Liu?
Sophie is a junior at Martin County High School. She’s based in Florida. Sophie is from Florida and is a junior at high school there and among thousands of entries, 16-year-old artwork was selected from Florida.
Following her nominations she told TC Palm in a statement that, “Iโm not used to all the attention. But Iโm so happy and so excited”.
The youngster is nominated for the first time after submitting her artworks for the past 3 years.
This year’s art that bagged the award among thousands of entries represented the theme “I care for myself” using an image of her hugging her mother.
What’s the Prize Money?
The Google Doodle 2022 competition winner, Sophie has received a $30,000 college scholarship.
Meanwhile her school will receive a $50,000 technology package, which is meant to be used to improve the facilities at her school like laboratory facilities etc.
In addition to all this, the World’s largest search engine will be displaying her artwork on Google’s Homepage as well as the New Tab Page in Chrome throughout this month.
Sophie’s artwork is titled as “Not Alone” and is believed to encourage viewers to seek help in difficult times and to remind them that they are always surrounded by their loved ones.
Who Was Among the Panel of Judges?
The judges for the Google’s Doodle Competition 2022 has included Selena Gomez and 2021โs Teacher of the Year, Juliana Urtubey.
The competition was followed by 5 rounds of public voting to select the best artwork from 5 different age groups.
The judges further narrowed the finalists to one winner and 16-year Florida-based Sophie Araque-Liu took home the coveted prize.
