Emma Lovell is the wife of New Zealand professional footballer Chris Wood who currently plays in the English Premier League for Nottingham Forest. Although she is originally from Nottingham, she currently works as a solicitor in Manchester, England. Emma and Chris dated for over three years before finally tying the knot earlier this year.
Emma qualified as a Solicitor in 2021 and she is a Consultant at Taylor Rose. She did her LLB from the Manchester Metropolitan University and her LPC, Law from the University of Law, Manchester and used to work as a solicitor at Prosperity Law, LLP earlier.
Emma undertook seats in Conveyancing and Family Law during her training contract and has worked primarily in Conveyancing since her qualification. She works on residential sales and purchases, including leasehold houses/flats, shared ownership properties, staircasing, help to buy equity loans, new build properties etc and acts for a variety of clients, including first time buyers, company purchases, lenders and clients requiring an expedited service.

Emma and Chris tied the knot earlier this year on June 17, 2024 at a five-star hotel located on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. The venue was a former 11th-century palace, turned hotel located on a cliff that overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea. Prior to his marriage, Wood proposed Emma in Spain back in January of 2024.
Fellow professional footballer Tommy Smith served as the best man at the wedding. Tommy and Chris were All Whites teammates during the 2010 World Cup. Notably, the English Premier League striker scheduled the wedding dates during the only month he has off from professional football.
Kids
Emma Lovell and Chris Wood currently do not have any children together. However, just last month, in October 2024, Wood revealed that he and his wife are expecting a baby girl. Wood shared the news during a post-match interview with Sky Sports stating:
It’s 12 or 13 weeks – we’ve found out we’re pregnant, or my wife is pregnant, so it’s fantastic that hopefully we can welcome a little girl into our world.”
Earlier in a match, Wood celebrated his goal by putting the ball under his jersey and sucking his thumb. The celebration was a message marking his wife Emma’s pregnancy.
