Zheng Haohao bio and age

Zheng Haohao is a young and upcoming skateboarder from China who is all set feature as the youngest Olympian for China as well as the youngest in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She is currently just 11 years old but has already gained a good amount of experience. Haohao started skateboarding at the young age of seven and has since taken part in various events.

Zheng initially took up the sport just for ‘fun’ after someone suggested it. Two years later, at the age of nine, she represented Guangdong at the National Games 2021 and finished 14th.

She started out practicing at a club run by Chen Wanqin, who is the father of Chen Ye, an Asian Games champion. According to her former coach Wei Naizhang, Zheng was a quick learner and never gave up easily. Despite her young age, she was extremely focused on skateboarding and would often work on correcting and improving herself.

Zheng gained prominence in 2022 when she won the women’s park skateboarding event in the Guangdong Provincial Games. She gained her qualification to the upcoming quadrennial event following the Qualification Series in Budapest and Shanghai. Zheng took a huge risk to finish with 72.6 points in the final round, way past the 67.34 points minimum qualification mark.

Heading into the competition, Zheng has the chance to set a major record and become the youngest Olympic champion. If she does so, Zheng Haohao will break an 86-year-old record which currently belongs to Denmark’s Inge Sorensen. Sorensen won the gold in 200m breaststroke aged 12 years and 24 days back in 1938.
