As per reports, the accused has been identified as 40-year-old, Sunil, who’s a resident of Punjabi Bagh, Delhi.

As per the cops, they nabbed the accused after investigating and discovering a Delhi Cantonment Board Sticker on Its Windshield and a VIP plate.
However, Sunil, who’s reportedly an accused in the case has denied all allegations and even refused his presence at the scene during the incident.
For those who are unfamiliar with the situation, let us tell you, a 50-year-old man was hit by a BMW on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway in the Vasant Kunj area on Sunday.
The victim is identified as Shubhendu Chatterjee, a resident of Gurugram, who was hit by the luxury car and was declared dead. He used to cycle spreading awareness of road accidents according to his friends.
The authorities had lodged a case under the IPC Section 279 which is rash driving and Sec 304A which is death by negligence.
As per reports, Police have arrested the driver of the car who reportedly had lost control after his car’s tyre burst. However, as the case is in under bailable sections, he was bailed out.
According to a Police statement the driver had rushed Shubhendu to the nearby hospital Safdarjung, however, doctors declared him dead.
As per the authorities, when they reached the incident’s spot, the car of the BMW seemed to burst and glass windows were smashed in. However, they also added that Sunil, who is reportedly the accused in the case, had denied allegations.
The investigation is still ongoing. Meanwhile, a close friend of the deceased, Sarika, had come forward and revealed that the victim used to cycle with a group.
In an interview with ANI, Sarika stated that a strict punishment should be given to the driver of the BMW.
She also stated, “We are very scared, after hearing about the incident. The roads of Delhi are not safe for cyclists, Shubhendu is survived by his wife and 21-year-old daughter, now who will take care of them.”
