Who is Shreyaan Daga?
The edtech sector has recently received a massive boost amid the pandemic situation. Education always has been considered a classroom experience, but the COVID-19 outbreak forced the institutions, the students, and teachers to shift over to the platform of online overnight. Identifying a new normal in the space, numerous innovators launched their own edtech businesses for meeting the demand.
Shreyaan Daga has only done schooling till the 10th standard and realized the impact of COVID-19 on the sector of education. In the month of April in 2020, he founded Online Live Learning, also known as OLL, along with Bhumika Sharma, Kushal Ghosh, and Payal Pandit.
Speaking about his journey, Shreyaan explained that the Mumbai-based edtech startup is a live marketplace where anyone can learn or even can they teach anything they have expertise at. He was given Rs.2 lakhs by his father to start his business who is today the director and co-founder of OLL.
“My dad’s offline training institute was shut down due to the pandemic, friends became distant, and school was either shut or virtual while millions of teachers lost their jobs. Borrowing my dad’s financial resources, we have got together a team of the people who believed in what we believe in and have made a stand,” he further added.
Recently this young boy was also seen in Shark Tank India’s second season. All the Sharks were impressed with Shreyaan Daga’s pitch with him getting a deal from Peyush Bansal and Vineeta Singh. Shreyaan Daga’s mother was also present with him and her name is Vidushi Daga
