In the same year, she participated in the Commonwealth Games and won gold in women’s 10 m air pistol. In 2022, she won the team gold for the country in women’s 25 m pistol team competition at the Asian Games, alongsid Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan.

Born in Goria village of Jhajjar district to a Hindu Jat father, Ram Kishan Bhakar, who works as a chief engineer in the Merchant Navy, Manu began her sports journey at a young age.

Reports suggests that, prior to venturing in shooting, Manu excelled in other sports like skating, martial arts, boxing, tennis. She even secured medal at the national level in these games.
