About Maheshwari Chauhan

For the curious, Maheshwari Chauhan, born on July 4, 1996, hails from Siana, Jalore, Rajasthan.

The 27-year-old Olympic athlete has clinched a spot in the Paris Olympics by finished second in the final Olympic qualification tournament, which was held in Doha, under the guidance of coach Vikram Singh Chopra.

An alumni of Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi, Maheshwari began shooting with her grandfather Ganpati Singh, her father Pradeep Singh and her brother Daksheshwar Singh at their private shooting range in Rajasthan.

Marital Status

Maheshwari Chauhan is married. The Indian Olympian tied the knot in 2023 to hotelier Adhiraj Singh. Though there isn’t much information available about her husband. Chauhan is supported by a widely popular sports NGO named Olympic Gold Quest.

Career

Standing at 160 cm (5 ft 3 in), Maheshwari became the first Indian woman to win an individual medal in women’s skeet at an international event after she secured a bronze medal at the Asian Championship in Kazakhstan.

Chauhan has been a consistent member of the Indian teams at various World cups and World championship. In Kuwait, earlier, she won a bronze at the Asian Championship.

Her other notable achievements include a top 20 finish at the 2013 ISSF World Cup in Mexico and a top 10 placement at the Asian Championship in 2016.

Maheshwari Chauhan’s Performance

Speaking about her performance at the Olympics 2024, the Indian duo were tied for the second place with a score of 49 after the first stage qualification.

Sharing the position with rival various teams, Anant Jeet Singh Naruka, secured a perfect score of 25/25 in the first round, while Chahuan scored 24/25, bringing team India’s total to 49.

In the second round, Chauhan scored perfect 25 but her partner Singh missed 2 shorts in both the 2nd and 5th series, scoring 23, resulting their total of 48. In the third round, they scored 49 again, with Maheshwari shooting a perfect 25 and Naruka scoring 24.
