The 66-year-old actress appeared in a number of movie throughout her career. In 1989, she starred alongside Denzel Washington in The Mighty Quinn.

Black National Anthem
Now coming back to the Black National anthem, let us tell you, the anthem is called Lift Every Voice and Sing. It was written by James Weldon Johnson.
At first, it started as a poem written by Johnson I’m 1900, who at the time was a leader of NAACP. Later, his brother, John, composed music to go with the words. Soon afterwards, the poem became a hymn.
The song was first publicly performed in Jacksonville by the school choir where John was principal.
The lyrics of the song speaks about the hopes for Black liberation and it was later adopted by the NAACP in 1917 as their official song.
Two years later, the poem became the Black National Anthem. During in 1950s and 60s, when the Civil Rights Movement were at their peak, the anthem grew in prominence and it became a cry for those who were protesting on the streets.
The American singer and songwriter, Beyoncé, introduced the anthem to a global audience when she sang it at Coachella.
