Baba Siddique, a former minister from Maharashtra and leader of the NCP, was shot three times on Saturday night while he was outside his son’s Bandra East office. He was married to Shehzeen Siddique.
The seasoned politician Baba Siddique was sent to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital right away, when medical professionals pronounced him deceased. According to a media report, Siddique was shot and killed outside the office of his son Zeeshan Siddique, an MLA, in Nirmal Nagar, close to Colgate Ground.

“There were two or three shots fired. Teams have raced to the scene and are conducting more investigation,” the official stated.
Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, announced Baba Siddique’s passing on Saturday night. Additionally, he stated that two of the three accused have been apprehended, and the third is still at large.
“Mumbai police chief told me two persons have been arrested. One is from UP, other from Haryana. Third assailant is absconding but police are trying to nab him,” the chief minister said.
Shehzeen Siddique is the wife of Baba Siddique. Zeeshan Siddique is their son, and Dr. Arshia Siddique is their daughter. Shehzeen has kept details about her professional life away from the limelight. She was spotted with her husband and kids during their Iftaar parties.
Her real name is Alka Bindra with her converting her religion from Hinduism to Islam to carry Baba, and she is the sister of Ranjit Bindra, who was reportedly involved in the Iqbal Mirchi Case. While her net worth isn’t known, in the affidavit given to the Election Commission in 2014, Baba had given information about his assets worth Rs.76 crores while his liabilities stood at Rs.23 crore. In 2018, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had seized 33 flats worth Rs 462 crore belonging to the then Congress leader Baba Siddiqui and Pyramid Developers.
Baba Siddique is survived by his wife Shehzeen and children Zeeshan and Dr. Arshia and Zeeshan is a politician from the Indian National Congress. 32-year-old Zeeshan is currently a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and the former President of Mumbai Youth Congress and in the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election, Zeeshan won the Vandre East Vidhan Sabha (MLA) Constituency by defeating Shiv Sena’s Vishwanath Mahadeshwar by 5790 votes.
Baba’s daughter, Arshia, is a doctor and an entrepreneur.

Three times an MLA from the Bandra West assembly constituency, Baba Siddique was defeated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nominee Ashish Shelar in the 2014 Maharashtra assembly elections. In addition, from 1992 to 1997, he held the position of Municipal Corporator for two terms in a row. Baba Siddique served as minister of state for labor, food and drug administration (FDA), consumer protection, and food and civil supplies under the Congress-NCP cabinet that took office in early 2000.
When he joined the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the Indian National Congress’s student branch, as a youngster, his political career officially began.
He was chosen to serve as the Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s Municipal Corporator not long after. He was elected as an MLA in 1999, then in 2004 and 2009, he was re-elected from the Bandra West seat.
