At approximately 7:15 p.m. on Friday, a guy named Sharon leapt onto the tracks at Jalahahlli Metro station as a Bengaluru Namma Metro train approached.

The victim was attempting a possible suicide.

According to authorities, a 23-year-old man was hurt on Friday when he attempted suicide by jumping onto the metro rails and was struck by a train in Bengaluru. About 7:12 p.m., Sharon, 23, a resident of Kerala’s Alappuzha district, jumped in front of the train at the Jalahalli Metro station.

Additionally, it resulted in a brief suspension of metro service on the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation’s Green Line (BMRCL). The man had bought a ticket to Majestic Metro Station and was going there with a companion.

Soon, he was transferred to the nearest hospital

Metro employees responded quickly by turning off the electricity, but according to authorities, Sharon was hit by the metro train and suffered brain injuries despite their efforts. He was very serious when he was brought to Saptagiri Hospital, where he is currently undergoing ICU care.

Based on the initial inquiry, Sharon was employed by an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) company. He had been struggling with depression since his father passed away approximately 1.5 months prior. When he returned to Bengaluru about fifteen days ago, he was residing in housing supplied by the firm.

The local police have opened a thorough investigation

Bengaluru Police opened an investigation into the event and filed a case at a nearby police station after it happened. The BMRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) discussed the occurrence by saying, “At Jalahalli Metro Station, a passenger who was waiting at the platform end jumped in front of the arriving train. The injured man was immediately attended to by BMRCL personnel, who also rescued him and took him to the neighbouring Sanjeevini Hospital for additional care.”

Four trains were held at different station platforms due to the aforementioned occurrence, and all commuters were removed from the trains. During the aforementioned time frame, the Yeshwanthpur and Silk Institute Metro Stations were the locations of the Green Line operations. At 8:00 p.m., the entire Green Line resumed operations.
