Stepmother Shari Dahmer, 81, reportedly passed away on Friday night, know her cause of death

Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Monster, was her son.

Shari and her late husband Lionel Dahmer were longtime residents of the small town of Seville in Ohio. Also her health had been failing for some time, and the Sun said that its reporter believes that those problems ultimately proved fatal. After her stepson’s 1991 arrest, Shari was forced into the spotlight as the world learnt of his heinous crimes.

In the United States, Jeffrey Dahmer, a twisted serial killer and rapist known as “The Milwaukee Cannibal,” was convicted of killing 17 young men between 1978 and 1991 and sentenced to life in prison. When he was finally apprehended in 1991, at the age of 30, people across America and the world were appalled by his crimes. He had committed his first murder when he was just 18 years old.

Some say she comforted the Milwaukee Cannibal’s father as he tried to come to terms with the horrors his son had committed. Also earlier this year, Molly Ringwald portrayed Shari in the Netflix drama series Dahmer – Monster: Last Year’s Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Which has been met with both praise and criticism.

The episode, along with the documentary Conversations With a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes, reignited public fascination with Dahmer’s serial killings. Some of which involved cannibalism, necrophilia, and the storage of victims’ body parts. Recently, Shari criticised Evan Peters for winning a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Jerry Dahmer. Claiming she should have done more to honour the victims.

“Shari passed away on the evening of December 13 so things have been kind of rough,” relatives were quoted as saying by the media. She has been in a nursing home for the past few years as her health has deteriorated. She made an effort to become well, but her chronic illnesses always came back.

For his atrocities, which included necrophilia, “The Milwaukee Cannibal” was given 16 life sentences. Dahmer was killed in prison by one of his fellow inmates.
