A Milwaukee Brewers fan named Shannon Kobylarczyk recently got fired from her job after she went viral for making a racist chant during the playoff game at Milwaukee’s American Family Field. Amidst the game, a Dodgers fan named Ricardo Fosado was recording the crowd after a home run when Shannon Kobylarczyk, a Brewers supporter, shouted at him:
Real men drink beer, p***y!”
She then proceeded to tap another fan and said,
You know what, let’s call ICE.”
In response, Fosado, who is a U.S. citizen and war veteran, responded calmly:
Call ICE. I’m a U.S. citizen, war veteran, baby girl. Two wars. ICE won’t do nothing to me.”
Security officials eventually arrived on the scene and escorted both of them out, with the video of the altercation going viral online.
Milwaukee Brewers and MLB speak out
Following the incident, both the Milwaukee Brewers and Major League Baseball swiftly responded. The Brewers announced that both fans were banned from attending future games, stating:
The Brewers expect all persons attending games to be respectful of each other. We do not condone offensive statements regarding race, gender, or national origin.”
Meanwhile, the MLB also confirmed that the league upholds a strict code of conduct for fans to ensure “a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.”
