Juncheng turned pro just back in 2021 and managed to achieve the No. 1 rank in the ITF Junior circuit.

Shang Juncheng is a 17-year-old tennis player who also goes by his nickname ‘Jerry’. He hails from Beijing, a Chinese province.
Shang reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 184 on 7 November 2022 and in July 2021, he reached the number one in the ITF junior rankings.

Career highlights and achievements
Despite just being 17 years, Shang Juncheng has won many achievements throughout his brief career. Shang was the first player born in 2005 to win a tournament on the ITF junior Circuit back in 2019.
The youngster won his first ever Grand Slam match at the French Open, in 2021. He has also managed to reach the semifinals of the Wimbledon Junior Division. Shang also reached the finals of the US Open Junior Division but lost out to Daniel Rincon.
The young starlet made his professional debut at the 2022 Rio Open, under the ATP Tour 500. Shang received an entry through a wildcard after Juan Martin Del Potro announced his retirement from professional tennis.
Shang then proceeded to win his first ever title in the Lexington Challenger 2022. The victory confirmed his rise to prominence as he had simultaneously become the youngest Chinese player to bag a Challenger Tour trophy. He had also become the youngest ever player since Carlos Alcaraz to win the trophy.
Currently, Juncheng is having an impressive run of form in the Australian Open 2023. Juncheng became the first Chinese player to win the main draw singles match in the Australian open after beating Oscar Otte.
