Police officers claim that Rahul Karamveer Jat who was arrested on suspicion of r*ping and killing a 19-year-old lady in Gujarat has committed at least four additional murders in less than a month, most of them on trains. The latest murder was committed in the Pune-Kanyakumari Express with Rahul admitting to all the five murders within a month.

After a thorough search that involved police units from multiple states and the scanning of at least 2,000 CCTV cameras across multiple Gujarat districts, Rahul aka Bholu Karamveer Jat, a native of Rohtak in Haryana, was taken into custody on November 24 from the Vapi Railway Station in Valsad, Gujarat.
According to the police, the accused age 30 Rahul Karamveer Jat of Rohtak, Haryana, a Class 5 dropout who has admitted to the crimes, r*ped women and killed people when he found them unattended. At the age of five, Jat who was physically disabled got polio and used to target victims in the disabled sections of trains. He admitted to killing five individuals, one of whom was an elderly guy he got into a fight with over a cigarette. He had also murdered a man in his 60s by strangling him and had fled with his phone, money and belongings.

“He was arrested on Sunday night in a joint operation carried out by local and railway police. Jat travelled extensively and kept changing his location. We have found that he is involved in at least four cases of loot and murder on trains and at railway stations,” Superintendent of Police (SP) Karanraj Vaghela said.
When the Valsad district police began investigating the murder of the woman, whose body was discovered on November 14 near the tracks near Udvada railway station, the skeletons fell out of the cupboard. The woman had been r*ped, according to a forensic investigation.
According to the police, the accused was seen on CCTV at the train station wearing the identical clothing that was discovered from the scene of the woman’s body while multiple search teams were assembled. After perpetrating the frightening crime, Jat was also seen enjoying some food at the train station on the CCTV footage and he used to travel by trains only along with sleeping at the stations.
The culprit robbed and killed a woman on a train close to Secunderabad railway station in Telangana just one day prior to his arrest. He s*xually assaulted and killed a woman on a train in Maharashtra in October, close to the Solapur railway station. Later, in West Bengal, he fatally stabbed an old man on the Katihar express train close to the Howrah train station. Additionally, he is charged of killing a train passenger in Mulki, Karnataka.
Police discovered that the accused had been released from Jodhpur Central Jail earlier this year, where he had been detained in connection with a robbery case, after his photo was matched with the national database of convicts. He was arrested back in 2018-19 and was currently out on bail.
