According to Sport Bild, Assan Ouédraogo, a Schalke midfielder, is not convinced to sign with Bayern Munich in the summer due to a lack of opportunities.
Earlier in the month, Bayern had made an official proposal for the young player but, the belief held by Ouédraogo and his family is that Bayern’s midfielder has little opportunity to grow due of the team’s overabundance of large players and ongoing pressure.

Who is Assan Ouedraogo?
Forzan Assan Ouedraogo is a German professional football player who plays midfield for Schalke 04. He was born on May 9, 2006 in Mulheim, Germany. The 17-year-old stands 1.92 m (6 ft 4 in) tall and wears the number 43 jersey with Schalke. The pronunciation of his name can be found here.
A look at Assan Ouedraogo’s career so far
Before relocating to Schalke 04 in 2014, Ouedraogo began his career at TuS Union 09 Mulheim for three years. In November 2022, the youngster agreed to a contract extension.
He was promoted to the main squad ahead of the 2023–24 campaign. He netted his first goal in a friendly away tie against 1. FC Bocholt on July 6 and set up Simon Terodde’s goal as well.
Ouedraogo scored a goal to kick off his 2. Bundesliga debut; he was unexpectedly selected as the starting lineup for the away match against Hamburger SV. He also won the record for being the youngest player to have ever played for Schalke 04 in a professional and competitive match, held by Volker Abramczik, at 17 years and 80 days.
Talking about his international career, at the under-16 and under-17 levels, Ouedraogo has represented Germany. On November 1, 2023, he was called up to compete in the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which was hosted in Indonesia.
Because of his Burkina Faso-born parents, he is still eligible to represent African nation.
