A look at Nawaf Al-Aqidi’s career

Nawaf started his playing career with Al-Nassr’s youth squad. On August 8, 2019, he agreed to a professional deal with Al-Nassr. He made his Al-Nassr debut on September 30, 2021, in the league game against Abha. Al-Aqidi joined Al-Tai on loan on January 30, 2022.

On February 12, 2022, he played in his first game, winning 3-1 over Al-Batin. Before going back to Al-Nassr at the end of the season, he made 7 appearances and kept 3 clean sheets for Al-Tai.

Talking about his senior international career, during the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup, Al-Aqidi made his debut for the senior team on November 18, 2021. Due to Saudi Arabia’s elimination at the group stage, he did not participate in the competition.

Al-Aqidi was added to the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup roster on December 30, 2022. As Saudi Arabia once more was unable to advance beyond the group stage, he started all three of the games.

He has only played for the national team four times since his debut, but his success in domestic events has won him a berth in the team for the forthcoming Asian Football Confederation Continental Showpiece.
