Know about Sarina Wiegman, the manager of the Lionesses, who has successfully guided her team to major tournament finals, and FA Chief Executive suggests she may eventually lead the men’s squad along with her salary and net worth

Sarina Wiegman may succeed Gareth Southgate as manager of the England men’s team. That declaration was made by the Football Association as the Dutch coach prepared to take the Lionesses to their first World Cup final.

Who is Sarina Wiegman, her age, career, family, husband, daughters

While Wiegman’s annual salary is £400,000 and she has a net worth of 1 million pounds, Men’s boss Southgate is reportedly paid £5m a year.

The nation’s governing body believes that her entry into the race would lead to “an interesting discussion” because the 53-year-old has successfully guided her adopted nation to many finals appearances in significant competitions.

Regardless of how Sunday’s final against Spain turns out, Wiegman, whose contract runs until 2025, is expected to receive a new one when Southgate’s contract expires the following year.

But Mark Bullingham, the head of the FA, made it clear that he was happy with her and that, should she decide to transfer her skills, she would be given consideration for Southgate’s role. “Sarina’s doing the Lionesses,” he remarked. She is performing admirably. He further said, as per The Mirror:

“I don’t like the language, ‘it should be the best man for the job’. I think it’s the best person for the job. Do I think football is behind other sports in terms of a lack of female coaches at the top level? I do.

I’m really happy with the job she’s doing and I hope she stays doing that for a long time. If at some point in the future she decides she wants to move into the men’s game, that would be a really interesting discussion. But that’s for her, right?”
