The Qatari owners of PSG invested for years before this victory. It also comes after they lost their only other final in 2020 to Bayern Munich. This season, PSG had already won the French league and cup. After Marseille defeated AC Milan in 1993, again in Munich, they are now the only other French team to win the Champions League.

Luis Enrique, the coach of PSG, has now won the Champions League twice. Ten years ago, he won it with Barcelona. After Kylian Mbappe left PSG, the present team was assembled throughout the course of the previous two years.

In the final, Doue who turns 20 on Tuesday was the most notable player. A fourth Champions League championship was out of reach for Inter Milan. 2010 was their most recent victory. Inter has now advanced to the final twice in three years under coach Simone Inzaghi, but both times they have lost. They also finished the season without a trophy and lost out on the Serie A championship this year.

In the 12th minute, PSG took the lead. Doue squared the ball to Hakimi after Vitinha passed it to him. Against his former team, Hakimi did not celebrate after scoring into an empty net.

After giving up early, Inter had little hope. In the sixty-third minute, PSG scored a third goal. Vitinha passed the ball to Doue after Dembele flicked it to her. Sommer lost against Doue at the near post.
