Patrice Evra was found guilty by the Criminal Court of Nanterre of having abandoned his family from May 2021 to September 2023. It was alleged that during this period he had left his wife behind. According to Le Parisien, the former professional footballer has been sentenced to a year in jail and two years probation.
This sentence allows him to avoid jail time while remaining under supervision. Evra has been ordered to pay €6,000 ($6,545) in damages and legal costs. Additionally, reports reveal that the former Manchester United player is liable for €1 million ($1.1 million) in overdue alimony. However, Patrice’s attorney Jerome Boursica mentioned that Patrice provided his wife with an apartment, a house with swimming pool in France, and nearly two million euros for daily expenses.
