Samson Lionel Nacua suspended after slapping a fan
Panthers WR Samson Lionel Nacua recently got involved in a heated altercation with a fan following their loss to the St. Louis Battlehawks on April 26, 2025. Nacua was caught slapping a fan on camera during a verbal confrontation post-game. The footage shows Nacua and teammate Adonis Alexander engaging with the fan before Nacua slapped the individual across the face. The UFL has since responded by suspending Nacua for one game without pay.

Samson Lionel Nacua is a wide receiver who was born on January 20, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nacua is currently 27 years old, and he is the brother of Pro Bowl wideout Puka Nacua. He comes from a football-driven family and initially rose to prominence through his performances at Utah and later BYU.
Nacua’s mother is Penina, while his father is Lionel Nacua. Penina was born in Orange County, California, USA, after her mom relocated to the United States from Samoa in 1968 and she is of Samoan descent.
His father, Lionel, is from the Big Island of Hawaii and later moved to Anaheim, California, United States and died on 14 May 2012 at the age of 45 due to complications related to diabetes.
He has five siblings: four brothers, Kai, Isaiah, Puka, and Tei, and a sister, Chanel Nacua with four brothers all playing football.

Career and stats
After initially going undrafted in 2022, Samson Lionel Nacua signed with the Indianapolis Colts. However, he was waived during final roster cuts and then joined the USFL’s Pittsburgh Maulers. Later in 2024, he signed with the Michigan Panthers, where he registered 11 receptions for 125 yards. Following a short stint with the New Orleans Saints in August 2024, Samson was released and eventually rejoined the Panthers in September, where he currently plays.
